TOPLOADER (Ego3 Filter 5): One filter model replaces dozens of different cartridge filters installed in a round shaft
There are many hot tub manufacturers who install hot tub filters in a round shaft. These come in different versions. But they almost always have one thing in common: the shaft has a diameter of 150mm. And we at Ego3 have used this commonality to cover all these cartridge filter variants with just one filter. Regardless of whether your old filter has an internal, external thread or no thread at all, if the shaft where the filter is installed is 150mm, then the Ego3 Toploader fits.
This made the Toploader model our BESTSELLING HOT TUB FILTER with more than 10,000 units in use!
Can be used with all the following filter systems:
1) in the round shaft with 2 floating rings as skimmer above (e.g. Armstark Sundance 680, various Wellis models)
2) in the round shaft with a floating pipe as skimmer
3) in the round shaft with a hat-shaped upper finish
INSTRUCTIONS: How do I proceed when switching from cartridge filter to toploader?
- Remove all previous parts! Attention, some versions still have a finishing ring at the top of the shaft (e.g. picture in variant 2) that reduces the diameter at the top. This must also be removed.
- Fill the toploader with 12-14 Filterballs.
- When using the toploader for the first time, push it carefully and slowly into the shaft. There are 3 felt gliders around the circumference of the toploader. These must stay nicely in position. They serve to prevent the filter from floating up later and keep it in position. The felt gliders now adapt exactly to the distance between the filter and the shaft.
- Push the toploader into the shaft until the lid of the toploader rests on the upper shaft edge. This prevents the filter from being pulled further into the shaft and keeps it in position.
- That means you are already done.

hot tub Guru tips
Why does the toploader work so excellently?
- It filters the entire diameter vertically. Dirt cannot settle anywhere in the shaft and cause contamination.
- Changing and cleaning is extremely fast.
- The entire 3D filter material is always used.
Operating principle
When can I not use the toploader?
VARIANT 1 is the right one for the Ego3 toploader model. The shaft is straight and has a diameter of 150mm.
VARIANT 2: When the shaft is larger than 150mm! VARIANT 2 - then you need an EGo3 filter with thread!
VARIANT 3: When the shaft is not always 150mm, but suddenly becomes smaller in the middle! Unfortunately, we do not have an Ego3 filter for this!
