Does the disinfectant, especially Spa Balancer, affect the filter performance of Ego3 filters?

Ego3 works perfectly independently of water care.
In principle, it can be said that the EGO³ filter always delivers its maximum performance regardless of the type of disinfection. However, some agents shorten the service life of whirlpool filters in general.
This question often arises in connection with the product Spa Balancer. Spa Balancer is a good but very expensive product and unfortunately has a negative impact on the lifespan of a hot tub cartridge filter . Many users are aware of this, as they have to clean their old paper filters at very short intervals (often every 1-2 weeks). This is because Spa Balancer or similar all-in products combine fine dirt particles into larger pieces so that they can also be filtered by normal cartridge filters with approximately 40-50 micron separation precision (=smallest particles that can be filtered). As a result, the filter pores clog or stick together much faster. With the EGO3 hot tub filter, these agents also lay down the filter material (filterballs) faster, but are not nearly as noticeable due to the significantly larger filter surface area and the three-dimensional filter structure.

Does the EGo3 filter work worse when disinfecting with Spa Balancer?
No!
The EGo3 filter always filters perfectly regardless of the means used, but it reveals a major disadvantage of the Spa Balancer system that one unfortunately only notices after several years.
Our filter cleans the Whirlpool pipes first!
Spa Balancer tends to clog the pipes. If EGo3 filters are used, the flow rate increases significantly due to the much lower flow resistance (which also greatly increases the lifespan of the circulation pump), and the deposited dirt is "rubbed" out of the pipes.

Therefore, if you have used Spa Balancer and are now switching to EGo3 filter, please just let it run even if the water becomes cloudy at the beginning (it takes a little while for the dirt to be filtered out again and dirt keeps coming in continuously).
Just wait and let it run. Depending on the existing pollution, it may take a few days to weeks, but afterwards the water will be naturally crystal clear and your pipes will finally be much cleaner.
