1 Euro per day hot tub electricity consumption?

The differences in electricity consumption between premium providers and cheap products are enormous. We know reports of electricity consumption ranging from 30 to 250 euros and more per month! And so a supposed bargain on a hot tub can quickly turn into a financial bottomless pit. The ongoing operation can quickly cost more than the entire hot tub ever did at purchase. Therefore, it's crucial to pay attention to what you buy. Unfortunately, the ongoing costs of a hot tub can exceed the purchase price by multiple times, and a 4000 euro hot tub is not cheap if I then need 2000 euros a year for operation. Therefore, the electricity consumption of the hot tub is the most important point regarding ongoing costs.

What are these differences? What is important for a low hot tub energy consumption?

  1. the perfect hot tub cover: with high-insulating foam, surrounding outer sealing lip, sealing strip between the two cover halves, suitable fastenings for low tensioning, and in general, the cover should be as thick as possible.
  2. the perfect overall insulation: Fully foam-insulated models definitely consume less electricity than all comparable partially insulated models. Regardless of the fancy names these reduced insulations are given :-) So don't be fooled by names like Arctic Pack, Premium Insulation, Top Insulation, etc. In my opinion, full foam saves 50% of heat loss compared to partial foaming. However, there are only a few premium providers like Artesian Spas, Hotsprings, Sundance, etc. who dare to do this, as the workmanship must be perfect. These manufacturers also guarantee an electricity consumption of about 1 Euro per day. Leaks would be a problem with full foam, hence the rule: Those who fully foam build pools that do not leak! Therefore, these whirlpools are also more expensive, but you can quickly save 6,000 Euros in electricity costs over 10 years!
  3. the perfect component selection for spa operation:
    • small efficient circulation pump!!! Here you can find everything from 80 watts to 500 watts. Partially also large two-stage pumps that circulate at a low stage and 500 watts. This means that with 20 hours of circulation time, there is a difference of about 8 kWh per day in electricity consumption.
    • efficient brand massage pumps

A few manufacturers guarantee low power consumption in writing. Notable mentions here are Artesian Spas /Beta Wellness (Made in USA products from Artesian Spas - excluding Beta's own line Infinity&Eco), Hotsprings, and Sundance/Armstark (Sundance Spas Made in Mexico - excluding the second cheap Chinese brand). Here, about 1 Euro per day (at 21 cents/KWH) is guaranteed. Many other manufacturers talk about it. Many also falsely promise it, but in writing, it is only available from very few like the three mentioned above. And the differences are striking. For example, a cheap Chinese product can quickly lead to 3 Euros per day in power consumption, which results in a difference of 7000 Euros in power consumption over 10 years!

"So that you can distinguish serious providers from "less serious" ones and also see exactly how much your whirlpool really costs (including 10 years of operation), I have prepared a comparison table for you to download after this article. This table will request all relevant data, and you can have this confirmed by the whirlpool seller. This way, you have an objective comparison of what costs you will actually incur."

So be careful and have the electricity consumption confirmed in writing!!!
