filter balls are the backbone of our innovative unique filter method.
There are various filter balls on the market. Basically, these can be divided into 2 main categories:
fiber balls:
These are filter balls that are made from continuous fibers into filter balls, so as the ego3 filter ballsHere too, there are various variants depending on the application. There are specially optimized ones for swimming pools, machine tools and pond systems. ego3 Filter balls for ego3 hot tub filter For example, they are specially optimized in terms of fiber and composition for use in whirlpools in order to offer our customers the best price-performance ratio. Their advantages are:- hardly any flow resistance due to the open structure
- very high dirt absorption due to the open structure
- very easy to clean also due to the fiber structure
- filters every particle from 1 micron
Cotton balls (usually white):
These are filter balls made of pressed cotton wool. They are very dense and compact. They are actually a Chinese imitation of the fiber balls, but only an imitation because there is a patent and a lot of know-how involved. Their disadvantages are:- expensive, although they cost very little, because you need a lot more because of the short shelf life and the difficult cleaning
- clumping: the filter balls are much too dense and this leads to clumping and flow problems in the pool and hot tub (they are also not backwashable in the pool)
- difficult to clean, as the dirt is difficult to remove from the dense filter ball structure
- need to be cleaned very often.
In summary, one can say: filter balls made of fiber material are the right and best Lsolution for water filtration and hot tub water treatmentFilter balls made of cotton wool are a cheap and poor copy of filter balls made of fibres, which, although cheap, are expensive overall and require much more time and even cost the hot tub can damage.
